SCHOOL ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT (PRAE) AND GREEN TEAM
Our School Environmental Project (PRAE, for its acronym in Spanish) was born to fulfil our mission and vision to educate global citizens guided by the fundamental values of integrity, excellence, environmental and social responsibility and awareness, following the principles of the International Baccalaureate with its programme “International-minded citizens towards a sustainable future”.
OBJECTIVES
WHAT IS EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY?
It is to educate current and future generations from a socio-critical approach, recognising the complexity of environmental systems and the interaction between ecosystems, cultures and societies. With the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guide, it connects the environmental dimension with a social equity approach to make a better world, aligned with the mission of the school and the IB
ESD COMPENTENCIES
Throughout their education process, students at The English School will develop critical thinking competencies for sustainability, linked to IB learner profile.
GREEN TEAM
Green Team is a School Environmental Committee, comprised of environmental leaders from all grade levels, Grades 1 to 11, where students have the opportunity to participate actively by proposing, promoting and developing environmental projects in our school and to become agents of change for Colombia and the world.
Through concrete actions in the local context and the development of critical thinking capacity towards global issues, our students foster social and environmental awareness in their environment, following global citizenship promoted by the International Baccalaureate and the school.
